BROOKE Richardson would no doubt be proud that her old high school has raised $600 to set up a foundation in her memory.
Brooke, 20, died in a car accident late last year. She had been texting while driving.
Her family set up the dont-txt-n-drive foundation to raise awareness.
Corowa High School students raised money this week by wearing orange — Brooke’s favourite colour.
“We wanted to raise awareness of the issue and support what we believe is a great cause,” principal Chris Johnston said yesterday.
Brooke’s mother, Vicki, said her daughter would be amazed at the community’s support.
She said Corowa Primary School had also raised money for the cause this month.
She said the foundation now had enough money to buy 1000 bumper stickers to promote the don’t-text-and drive message.
