Cavalcade of the old and new on display

ALMOST every model of Peugeot from 1946 to the present will be represented at the Peugeot Easter Pageant to be held in Wodonga next weekend.

Hosted by the Peugeot Car Club of Victoria, the gathering will bring together 37 cars and 65 participants from Victoria and other areas who will be involved in a number of functions taking place in various towns around the region.

Club spokesperson Murray Knight said a full program of events and drives had been planned, starting with a concourse and display at the Howlong Country Golf Club on Easter Saturday morning from 10am until noon.

“The models on display will include 203, 404 cabriolet, 404 sedan, 504 sedan, 504 cabriolet, 504 cabriolet/coupe, 406 couple, 206cc, 307cc and a 407, with the possibility that a 403 will also be present,” Mr Knight said.

While final details are still to be finalised, a motorkhana will be held at the Howlong Pony Club grounds or, alternatively, an observation run will be held on the Saturday afternoon.

A major Observation Run through Yackandandah, the Kiewa and Mitta Valleys to Tallangatta and returning to Wodonga via Mount Granya and Bellbridge is also planned over the weekend, giving locals plenty of opportunities to see the cars.

A number of dinners have been arranged for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at St. Ives Bier Cafe, Cafe Grove and the Birallee Tavern.
