Six of the show dogs fled when a truck crashed into their trailer near Boho yesterday as they were returning home from an Easter show in South Australia.
Two dogs have been found but four others are still missing.
The dogs are from Kimissa Kennels at Corowa, owned by Reg and Mandy Clancy.
Their daughter, Rebecca, said her parents had set up a caravan beside the Hume Fwy in the hope the dogs would return.
“Thankfully my parents are alive,” she said.
“But (they are) absolutely frantic knowing the dogs are loose and scared on the highway.”
The missing dogs are named Whoopi, Cyan, Caddy and Munro.
Waggit was found covered in ants next to the nearby rail line.
He is now receiving treatment at a Benalla veterinary clinic.
