Jackson, who won the award in 1998 as a teenager, will speak about her sporting journey from growing up on the Border to becoming the world’s premier basketballer.
The Canberra Capitals star has been sidelined with a serious hamstring injury and won’t return to the court until May next year when she plays for WNBA club Seattle Storm.
Jackson, 31, joins an impressive list of guests to attend the awards night in recent years including former Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath, former national netball coach Norma Plummer and three-time Paralympic wheelchair racing gold medallist Kurt Fearnley.
Ben Fulford (cricket), Josh Briant (water-skiing), Ben Hooppell (hockey), James Willett (shooting), Zach Murray (golf), Jordan Boys (kart racing), Nick Dempsey (water polo), Jodi Elkington (athletics), Thomas Webb (bowls), Emily Browne (netball), Jeremy Finlayson (AFL) and Jocelyn Bartram (hockey) have been nominated for the award.
The function will be held at the Commercial Club from 7pm.
