Satirical sense and sensibility

The American satirist David Sedaris has travelled the world, often with his partner of more than 20 years, painter and set designer Hugh Hamrick, giving readings of his popular personal essays. On the home front, however, they tend to stay put. So, surprisingly, after 15 years living at Hamrick's house in Normandy, they rented it out and kept the keys to their Paris apartment but emigrated to Britain, settling in the rural idyll of West Sussex.
