Channel 7 presenter Johanna Griggs will accompany Jackson on a guided tour of the basketballer’s ultra-modern two-storey Davis Sanders home on Better Homes and Gardens segment at 7pm on PRIME7.
Jackson is settling into her new home, which took 10 months to build, and is looking forward to the prospect of enjoying the peace and calm of her property throughout winter.
“It’s my base now and no matter where I am in the world, I’ll always be coming back here,” she said.
Albury-born and raised, Jackson wanted a spacious house for the long-term, suited to her height with plenty of storage, and close to her home town.
“I’m just getting to that age where it was sort of like, well, I need to find where I’m happiest and then obviously make some roots,” she said.
“I guess everything’s just so hectic all the time, to be able to come here and have breakfast on the deck and not hear a thing is good.”
The demands of an international playing career meant her parents, Gary and Maree, took a major role in overseeing construction of the home, which sits on a 0.4 hectare block overlooking Lake Hume.
The lower level includes a triple garage, gymnasium, alfresco area, a guest bedroom with an en suite while upstairs is a sleek black, white and grey white kitchen and living area, two more bedrooms and a spacious balcony upstairs to take full advantage of the views.
Jackson said her new home was a long time coming with her whole career leading up to the day she moved in.
“Every room I feel really happy in, I mean, there’s not one place I don’t want to be in this house,” she said.
