FLYAWAY gymnastics has started the competitive season in impressive fashion.
The club’s level 4 and 5 girls recently cleaned up at an invitational event in Geelong.
Flyaway took out both first and third place at state level 4, as well as finishing as the second best team at national level 5.
Isabel Mitchell placed first overall at national level 5.
She took out the beam event, with fellow team members Kate Bickerton finishing third in the same event and Tahlia Winter-Weidner coming second on the bars and third on the floor.
Tayah Baker placed second overall at state level 4, thanks to second place finishes on the vault and beam.
Lucy Woodroffe was also successful, finishing third overall at state level 4. She finished first on the floor and on bars.
KiAn Feeney-Nesire placed second on the floor and third on the bars. In the other session, Natalie Gibbons won floor.
The team travels to Niddrie this weekend for the next round of competition.
