Californian teenager Noah Hill, 14, is part of the 30-strong contingent from the All-American Boys Chorus who will be in Albury until tomorrow as part of their whirl-wind trip of Australia.

The professional choir has performed to standing ovations across the globe, including singing alongside Josh Groban (of You Raise Me Up fame) at Disneyland.

Last night the boys, who are being hosted by Scots School families, sang for about 100 people in St David’s Uniting Church an American parade of songs from movies to musicals and everything in between.

The boys will conduct workshops with the Scots School choirs and will experience what it’s like to go to an Australian school for a day.

They made time to watch an Aussie rules game in Albury.

“It was quite interesting and quite similar to American football,” Noah said.

Noah, from Orange County, said he had already tasted Vegemite, and loved it, and was looking forward to seeing Sydney and Melbourne.

“I thought this place was really dangerous because I watched shows about the snakes,” he said.

Noah has sang in choirs since he was four, but he loves jazz and classical music, naming Led Zeppelin and ACDC as favourites.

Scots deputy principal Scott Young said it was a coup to attract the group.

“This is a feather in our cap for Albury to have a choir of this standing,” Mr Young said.
