THE ownership of historic Rutherglen winemaking business R.L. Buller and Son will remain on the Border with its purchase by Albury business B.E Judd Holdings Pty Ltd.
New business manager for Buller Wines, which was established in 1921, Paul Curtis said it was an exciting time.
“The company will continue its family tradition of fine wines,” he said.
“Andrew Buller, the third generation of the family to run R.L. Buller and son, and his wife, Wendy, will oversee the redevelopment of the Calliope Winery and vineyards to ensure the legacy of 100 years and the integrity of the old vineyard remains intact.
“This will ensure the continued production of its hugely popular and internationally accredited Calliope Shiraz and durif as well as the “perfect score 100 out of 100” muscat and tokay, as judged by The Wine Advocate critic, Robert Parker.”
Mr Curtis said the winery would remain open seven days a week.
