THE Tocumwal Football Club last night voted to switch to the Picola and District league.
Needing a 75 per cent majority to push ahead with the league transfer, 234 members voted in favour with just 26 against leaving the Murray league with two votes cast as informal.
It was the second time the Bloods have voted on the move after they fell just short of attracting enough support last month when it was claimed there was a glitch in the voting system.
Tocumwal has won just nine senior matches in the past three seasons and is winless in three of the four grades this year.
Officials have become increasingly worried about the club’s ability to remain competitive in the cashed-up Murray league with club president Bob Bourke believing a switch is in the Bloods’ best interests to ensure their future.
It wants to join Picola’s North West division and requires a 75 per cent majority vote from all 16 clubs in the two divisions to be accepted.
The last club to move to the Picola league was Rennie when it crossed after one season in the Hume league in 2008.
