NSW charges against a Benalla man who has admitted responsibility for a 2011 car crash in which an Albury teenager died have been adjourned until September 17.
Nilsson Smyth, 23, has been charged with six matters, including two counts of failing to stop in a police pursuit, drink-driving and dangerous driving.
Magistrate Tony Murray last week in Albury Local Court said the charges should go ahead because there had been a long delay.
Mr Murray was told Smyth faces sentencing in the County Court in Wod- onga on a culpable driving charge over the death of Kyralee Clark, 17.
Solicitor Allison Bruce said yesterday that Smyth’s Melbourne legal team had made representations to Albury police about the NSW charges.
Ms Bruce said a barrister, representing Smyth in the County Court, was available from September 9 and the matter should be finalised that week.
