IT is a call to arms — or at least to the net.
Albury Tennis Association is gearing for another big summer — in particular the 100th staging of its Easter Open late in the season.
It is already taking nominations for Saturday pennant in the lead-up to the competition starting in October.
The association’s Sandra Rouvray said the signs were that competition would be strong across all four divisions of pennant.
“Numbers have held pretty steady for two years,” she said.
“We have seen a resurgence in entries for the Margaret Court Cup in January and expect a big turnout in November when we host the national school’s competition.
“And planning is in hand for our Easter Open celebrations.”
The association will hold its annual meeting next Monday at 7.30pm at the Margaret Court Pavilion.
Saturday afternoon pennant and juniors kick off on October 12 while nominations for afternoon competition open remain open until September 14.
Nominations for Tuesday ladies are also open.
