ALMOST $250,000 has been earmarked for Mount Beauty streetscape works by the Labor government.
Indi’s Labor candidate Robyn Walsh said the money would go towards fixing up bike paths and footpaths around the pondage and tidying road access to car parks.
“I think it will enhance that whole area down by the lakeside,” she said.
“There are programs big and wonderful but this shows we still focus on the smaller regions and projects that are no less important.”
“This project will improve safety and access to the CBD area for both pedestrians and cyclists, by improving ageing road infrastructure.”
The money is part of the “Progressing Place” scheme which focuses on regional communities.
It is part of the latest round of funding from the Regional Development Australia Fund.
Ms Walsh said the funding was already included in the budget.
