Giltrap was cleared of his charge while Paton escaped with a reprimand in the final two cases of a marathon tribunal hearing at Noreuil Park last night.
Teammates Chris and Justin Nelson and James Gray weren’t so lucky with the trio outed for a total of 11 matches.
Thurgoona’s Daniel Kannenberg and Sam Field received three and one week bans respectively for offences arising from the spiteful July 6 match at Mitta.
The hearing came following an inquiry by AFL Victoria country investigations officer Kevin Mayhew.
The tribunal hearing finished at 12.15am.

FIFTEEN weeks and counting.
That’s where the Tallangatta and District league tribunal suspension meter sat late last night as Mitta United and Thurgoona faced the music after an extensive review into their spiteful encounter at Mitta on July 6.
The seasons of Mitta United pair Justin and Chris Nelson were both ended by the tribunal.
Chris was hit with a total of five matches, while brother Justin copped four.
Justin was found guilty in two of his three charges, with a lack of evidence in his first case sparing him further sanction.
Chris, also facing three striking charges, was handed one, two and two matches for strikes on Brad Sutcliffe, Sam Field and Mark Bush.
They pleaded not guilty to all six charges.
James Gray copped two games.
Field will also sit out Saturday’s must-watch qualifying final between the two clubs after he got a week for striking Justin Nelson.
Thurgoona’s Daniel Kannenberg was also suspended for three matches in total for two separate charges as a runner.
Mitta pair Paul Giltrap and Dougal Paton were still awaiting their fate at 11pm last night.
