TRINITY College has secured Albury artist Jo Davenport as its feature artist for the inaugural Trinity College art exhibition and acquisitive award to be held on September 13-15.
Davenport will exhibit a previously unseen work and offer several others for sale at the event which has a $2000 acquisitive art award and an $800 emerging artist award.
Principal Steven O’Connor welcomed the support of one of the region’s most respected artists.
“Jo’s work is in demand through Melbourne and Sydney galleries,” he said.
“She’s receiving recognition at a national and international level, so it’s quite a coup to have her give so generously of her time and expertise to promote art within her home town.
“Our exhibition has an emphasis on selecting a variety of genres to reinforce the importance of the arts in our educational and collegial life and we believe this event will become a prestigious flagship for Trinity College.”
