LEARN how to attract birds and insects into your garden from expert green-thumbs at Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre.
Ecologist Dave Watson, native bee expert Karen Retra and garden biodiversity guru Lou Bull will speak from 1pm as part of the “birds and the bees” day at the Burrumbuttock site tomorrow.
“It’s about biodiversity in the natural environment and how native plants bring birds and insects back into our native gardens,” Wirraminna volunteer Sue Rose said.
“It’s helping gardeners and landholders to do their little bit.”
Ms Retra will showcase a “bee hotel”, which encourages bee breeding in the average garden.
Face-painting, a scavenger hunt, free barbecue and plant stalls will also keep visitors busy.
Entry is free from 11am but donations are appreciated.
