NO other club has backed Diamonds’ appeal to overturn the decision that “robbed” it of three points in the senior men’s competition.
A meeting of club presidents on Monday night heard the appeal from the league champions over the reversal of its win against Twin City when the red and whites played suspended midfielder Ben Whitehead.
Diamonds had argued the advice from AWFA was that Whitehead was cleared to play.
AWFA argues the onus is with the club and the presidents from the rest of the league agreed.
Diamonds president Paul Millynn said they would use the rejections as motivation in the cup play-offs.
“In the end it would have cost us another $500 to go to a higher appeal and it just wasn’t worth it,” he said.
