BENALLA residents who witnessed possible shots fired in the town last night have been asked to come forward.
Police were called shortly before 11pm after reports of a number of shots being fired at a property on Bridge Street.
Officers spotted a car being driven by a man holding a gun triggering a low-speed pursuit, police said.
The car was intercepted at the Benalla cemetery and a Benalla man, 29, was taken into custody without incident.
The firearm was seized.
Police believe shots may have been fired at a number of other locations in the area last night and asked anyone with information to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Benalla police on (03) 5762 1811.
