A BENALLA man is facing 16 charges after an alleged pursuit involving a firearm in the city on Wednesday night.
Police were called in just before 11pm after reports of shots being fired at a property in Bridge Street.
While the police were on their way to the Bridge Street area, a car was driven passed them and the driver was said to be holding a gun.
They said they pursued the driver at low speed and the driver was intercepted at the Benalla cemetery.
Matthew Lynch, 29, was arrested and charged with 16 charges, including firearm offences and conduct endangering life.
He was remanded in custody to appear in the Benalla Magistrates’ Court on September 3.
