A FISHING enthusiast caught the catch of his life on Saturday.
Bride-to-be Amelia Burnham surprised her groom, Steve Mulloy, by arriving in his fishing boat, which was towed behind a four-wheel-drive.
“I have done this many times, but not in a wedding dress,” Ms Burnham said of climbing out of the boat.
“It was a lot harder than it looked.”
Her mother-in-law Gail Mulloy was in on the surprise.
Before the wedding at the Lake Hume Resort she told The Border Mail her son would be overwhelmed with surprise and might even cry.
“He loves his fishing and that boat,” she said.
“He is going to absolutely love it and he is most likely going to cry.”
The look on the groom said it all.
A guard of honour was formed with fishing rods when the married couple walked back down the aisle.
The couple will make their home on the Border and honeymoon at Eden next year.
