LAVINGTON football coach James Saker has signed with Wodonga — in cricket.
In another huge recruiting coup for the Cricket Albury-Wodonga club, Bulldogs captain Robbie Jackson confirmed yesterday the talented all-rounder would be playing at Les Cheesley Oval this season.
But Jackson is unsure how many appearances the former Benalla all-rounder will be making.
“He’s committed to playing outside his football commitments,” Jackson said.
“It depends on whether he has recruiting commitments with Lavington or training or whatever else can come up so we’re not sure how many games he will play.”
Saker and Jackson have a close association at Lavington Panthers with Jackson helping to run the bench.
Wodonga has enjoyed an outstanding off-season with Lavington’s James Tonkin and Brendan Klein-Boonschate, and St Patrick’s batsman Trent Ball joining the club.
