A WOMAN suffered second and third degree burns after she was allegedly pushed into a campfire by her defacto partner, police said.
The incident occurred at Woods Point, near Mansfield, last night and Benalla detectives are investigating.
Benalla acting Detective Sgt Shannon Murphy said the woman, 29, suffered second and third degree burns to her hands and torso, about 20 per cent of her body.
She was taken to Maroondah Hospital in Melbourne for treatment last night.
Detectives are interviewing a man, 39, at the Benalla police station this morning.
