LAVINGTON man Brent James Delaney will be sentenced in Albury Local Court next month over a drunken rant and assaults on two women police officers.
Delaney, 22, of Nagle Road, pleaded guilty yesterday to two counts of assaulting an officer in the execution of her duty, resisting arrest and offensive language in a public place.
Magistrate Megan Greenwood said Delaney had previous similar matters and she wanted a pre-sentence report.
Delaney and his brother had been drinking at Groove Saint on August 4.
Police were escorting his brother out due to his level of intoxication when Delaney approached from behind and made contact with the back of two women officers causing them to move forward.
“Where’s the boys in blue, ladies?” Delaney said.
Outside the brothers were told several times to leave, but verbally abused the officers.
Delaney pushed one in the chest and the other officer tried to arrest him but he broke free of her grip.
More police arrived and his brother was handcuffed before Delaney lunged at a male officer.
He began to resist the officer and more police came to put the brothers in a police vehicle.
