HOLBROOK’S Sally Bulle led her team to victory against Furst in the Albury Tennis Association’s Tuesday ladies pennant grand final at Thurgoona yesterday.
After splitting the opening two sets, Bulle and her teammates Chris Essex, Brenda Roberts and Leasa Brown stepped up and took out the decider four sets to two.
Colleen Gallagher was a two-set winner for Furst.
In the section 2A play-off, Sutton gained the upper hand early against Milliken before recording a hard-fought 4/32 to 2/27 victory.
Sandy Ver De Stadt was the standout for Sutton with a three-set haul, with back up from Fiona Sutton, Sandra Langford and June Armstrong.
Wendy Milliken was best for her team.
Van Der Vliet won the first set but nothing more with Horsfall running out comfortable five-sets-to-one victors in the 2B decider.
Kate Horsfall, Carolyn Staughton, Tinks Urquhart and Angela Quirk contributed for the winners while Jane Van de Vliet and Priscilla Hill were good early for their side.
Fletcher defeated Dwerryhouse in section three.
Meanwhile, the Tuesday ladies summer pennant commences on October 8 at the Albury Grasscourts with nominations closing next Tuesday.
