FANCY winning a $35,000 Subaru or a $30,000 Harley?
All that stands between you and these fine prizes is about 200 metres.
Both are on offer for holes-in-one at a Wodonga charity golf day next month.
Money from the event, organised by Adroit Insurance, will go to Border Trust — a fund that has handed out almost $400,000 to community groups in nine years.
Adroit’s Steve Nusser said he wanted to make it a regular event on the Border’s calendar.
“We pride ourselves on community involvement and we donate a percentage of our profits to charity. Border Trust is one of those,” he said.
“We’ve been lucky enough to get Ezybonds, Phils Garage, Baker Motors and the Bendigo Bank on board.
“Danny Frawley will be here for a charity auction — we hope to get 120 to 130 players.”
Border Trust’s Glenys Atkins said such events raised the trust’s visibility and build capital for the next round of grants.
“Since 2005 we have given $380,000 to organisations for big and small projects,” she said.
“We helped with Hilltop Carers’ Accommodation Centre at Albury Hospital and money we gave the Murray River Quilters provided quilts there.”
