THE home of a Whitfield stabbing victim was destroyed by fire on Sunday night.
Four fire trucks were called to Trevor Grimshaw’s King Valley Road home about 9.40pm.
Mr Grimshaw, 58, was not at home — he has been staying with family since being released from the Royal Melbourne Hospital, after being stabbed at his home on August 28.
It took about 40 minutes for crews to control the fire, which was extinguished about 10.45pm.
A CFA spokesman said the house was destroyed but no neighbouring properties were affected.
Police last night said their investigations were ongoing.
