PROMISING Walla midfielder Shaun Mannagh has become the youngest winner of the Hume Football League club’s best and fairest award in its 110-year history.
Mannagh, who turned 16 last month, polled 41 votes to share Hoppers’ top award with utility Mark Sims.
The NSW under-16 representative and Jydon Neagle also finished in the top-12 in the Azzi medal count at Henty last week.
“It’s a bit like the master and the apprentice winning the best and fairest,” Walla coach Craig Mannagh said.
"Mark Sims has been around for a long time and played some very good football for us and Shaun had a really good year as well especially given he’s only just turned 16."
Randall Lieschke won Walla’s reserve-grade best and fairest, Alex Paech took out the thirds and Coby Baczynski was successful in the under-14s.
