Cr Longmire is following the recent tradition of mayors serving long periods in charge with his predecessor Gary Poidevin having two stints of seven and six years.
Mr Poidevin retired from the council before last year’s election with his former colleague, Bill Bott, who served as shire president for six years before the role was renamed.
Mr Bott’s successor Keith Barber also had four years in the top job as mayor.
Deputy mayor Daryl Davey was also re-elected unopposed for a second year.
Cr Longmire, 61, has been at the forefront of the council’s fight to secure $1.4 million in federal government funding for its saleyards upgrade, a battle to continue with the new government.
