A WODONGA mother is angry and shocked after her car was vandalised with spray paint on Monday night.
Sarah Haynes found her Hyundai Terracan Highlander, which she had only had for five weeks, at 10am yesterday sprayed with black graffiti.
“They made the effort to go down my driveway and spray-paint the car,” she said.
“They have blacked out my number plates and mirrors and sprayed the back and the driver’s side.”
Ms Haynes is pregnant with her fourth child and bought the car to cater to her growing family.
“I don’t want to have to spend a lot of money on getting the paint off,” she said.
“I can’t even make sense of what they have written.”
Ms Haynes scrubbed as hard as she could to remove the paint but had no luck.
“I’m just shocked and angry,” she said.
“Now it’s something that’s just going to cost me money and I’m not able to work because I’m pregnant. It’s just not what we need.”
An electrical box and another car in the neighbourhood were also damaged.
Ms Haynes said her home was located in a quiet area in Billy Hughes Court, seldom targeted by vandals.
Wodonga Sgt Shane Martin said the vandalism was an “act of stupidity”.
“Once again people have displayed stupidity and this lady will be out of pocket,” he said.
“It’s ridiculous someone would do this to them.”
Sgt Martin said he was hopeful someone would be able to identify the tag.
“People talk and we encourage anyone with information to let police know,” he said.
Anyone with information should contact police on (02) 6049 2600.
