SHOP staff, customers and kids on holiday yesterday helped the Fight Cancer Foundation towards its $500,000 goal.
The foundation held a Footy Colours Day event at Centro Albury, collecting money and promoting the Hilltop patient and carer accommodation centre.
Centro has supported the campaign with collection tins in the tenants’ shops all this month.
Hilltop manager Helen Murray said dressing up in football colours had created a bit of football fever.
“People are stopping to donate and hear what we are about,” she said.
Operated by the foundation, Hilltop provides patients and their carers with affordable rooms near the Albury hospital and other treatment centres.
Fight Cancer Foundation marketing manager Julia Mann said 400,000 people across Australia had registered a Footy Colours Day event, which hoped to raise half-a-million dollars.
Centro Albury’s Tara Leach said Centro was happy to get on board and support the good cause.
