THE performances of the Brett Cavanough-trained Niblick last season have been recognised with a nomination for NSW Country racehorse of the year.
The high-class galloper has been nominated for the award alongside Mahisara and Ortensia.
The winner will be announced at NSW Country and Provincial Awards Night to be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney on Friday night.
Niblick was undefeated in two starts for the Cavanough stable last preparation.
The seven-year-old defeated a strong field first-up in the $101,500 Listed National Sprint at Canberra in early March.
Niblick then claimed the $170,000 Listed Albury Gold Cup.
