Quite often in the South Coast Register office we come across strange occurrences, be they in photographs or stories.
But one picture that was posted on Facebook on Wednesday certainly caught our attention.
The photo was posted by Becca Nevin and featured on the NSW SES Illawarra South Coast Region Facebook page.
The photo featured a giant pig that decided to cause traffic chaos at South Nowra on Wednesday afternoon by crossing the Princes Highway.
We don’t know if someone was telling a “porky” or if it was a “swine” of a story or just an everyday “boaring” occurrence.
Mind you looking at the photo it looks more like a sow rather than a boar.
Now, not wanting to “ham” it up – but we contacted local police who denied all knowledge of this curly tale, however it has been revealed that two of NSW’s finest officers did in fact apprehend the wayward pig.
Apparently she escaped from the enclosure of her recently acquired home in South Nowra.
And there was no truth to the matter that she just wanted to check out the new roadworks in the area.
Perhaps she just wanted to “hog” the spotlight.
At last reports she had been returned to her owners.
