NICK O’Bryan will coach Wahgunyah next season.
After recently stepping aside as coach at Mulwala, O’Bryan has opted to continue his stint in the coaching ranks with the neighbouring Tallangatta and District league club.
O’Bryan, who led the Murray league Lions to this year’s grand final against Echuca United, will lead Lions of a different kind next year.
“It was just time to move on,” O’Bryan revealed.
“After a couple of years the club gets sick of your voice and you sort of exhaust your recruiting options and all that.
“Both myself and the club just need a change and a bit of a freshen up.
“This is a new opportunity and I’m looking forward to it.”
O’Bryan replaces Adam Dodd at the Wahgunyah helm.
The Lions finished eighth this season, winning seven games.
The club last played finals in 2011.
Meanwhile, Ryan Richardson has been re-appointed for a fifth season as coach at Kiewa-Sandy Creek.
Richardson, who took on the job at the end of 2009, led the Hawks to the 2011 premiership.
It is likely to be his last season at the coaching helm.
