THE resurgent Murray Magpies have struck again, signing Nick Sheridan and Nick Mitas.
In another early recruiting raid, Corey Lambert has lured two tall utility players to Urana Road as the Magpies look to charge up the ladder under their new high-profile coach.
“They should be handy additions,” Lambert said.
“These guys, I think, will have a fair impact on the competition and on our team.
“We’re at the stage where we need to build a list that makes sure we’re super competitive.
“So any player that jumps on board helps.”
Sheridan has followed Lambert from North Albury, joining Ben Ryan and Josh Senior as Hoppers to make the switch to the Hume league club since the end of the season.
Sheridan had minimal impact in the seniors this year, due in part to work commitments, and spent most of the year in the Hoppers’ reserves.
Mitas, meanwhile, played 19 games for Tallangatta and District league bolter Dederang Mount-Beauty this year.
“Everything I hear about him is positive,” Lambert said.
“He’s in and under and will be a real hard nut for us.
“And ‘Shero’ was in good touch in the twos this year and we see him playing his best footy up forward for us.”
The Magpies aren’t finished on the recruiting front, either.
“The feedback has been super,” Lambert said.
“We’re still speaking to potential recruits and it’s looking really positive.”
