ALBURY police seized $7 million worth of the drug ephedrine when they stopped a hire car at Mullengandra shortly before 11pm on Thursday, August 15.
Police will allege when the vehicle was searched they located a substance which proved to be ephedrine, with an estimated potential street value of $7 million. They also seized almost $2000 in cash, four mobile phones and drug paraphenalia.
A man, 29, from Eagle Vale was charged with five offences; supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, two counts of possession of equipment for administering prohibited drug, dealing with property suspected to be proceeds of crime, and possessing a prohibited drug.
A second man, 32, from Chester Hill, was charged with four offences; supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, dealing with property suspected to be the proceeds of crime, goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen and possessing a prohibited drug.
Both men were granted conditional bail to appear in Albury Local Court on October 22.
