COROWA Show organisers couldn’t have asked for a better day, even welcoming the rain that fell in the afternoon.

Show society president Norm Wales was delighted with the steady steam of patrons through the gates.

“It’s been a solid show,” he said.

“We have seen lots of young kids around this year, which is great to see.”

The show folded in 2003 but was able to reform the following year and has continued to grow to where it has once again become a major event.

Mr Wales claimed it was the typical country show attractions that kept people coming back each year, including the sideshow alley, dodgem cars and all manner of rides and showbags.

Then there is also the main pavilion showcasing outstanding needlework, cooking, flower arrangements and photography.

Mr Wales said organisers were pleased with the entries in the horse section.

“Everyone loves the horses and the snake man drew a large crowd,” he said.

A performer dressed as a robot, pushing a robot baby in a pram, also created a great spectacle.

But it was the rain that fell after 3pm that was a highlight for most of the town.

“The rain was great, we want more,” Mr Wales said.

“I am sure most of the town, especially the farmers, would agree.”
