WOMEN will be pampered and perhaps win the services of a tradesman at tomorrow’s Girls Night In fund-raiser in Howlong.
Organiser Kristy McMahon said the event was her way of giving back to the Howlong community who supported her during her cancer treatment.
Mrs McMahon will undergo her last radiation treatment for breast cancer next week after being diagnosed in February.
“I couldn’t get over all the generosity people showed me,” she said.
“This event is my way of saying thank you.”
Mrs McMahon is unsure whether she is in the clear yet.
“You just have to keep positive and keep your fingers crossed,” she said.
“Things like organising this event help to keep my mind off it.”
The fund-raiser will be held at the Howlong Golf Club tomorrow, from 7pm.
Guests will get a welcome drink, finger food, entertainment and lucky door prizes for $20 entry.
There will be pampering services such as hot rock massages, manicures and hair styling for a small fee.
Women will also have the chance to bid on a tradesman to come to their house and help out with the odd job.
“To auction off we have two builders, a bricklayer, gardener, electrician and a carpet cleaner,” she said.
“I am sure they will all come in handy.”
Tickets available at the door, but women are encouraged to book on (02) 6026 5822.
Proceeds will go to the Cancer Council.
