DETECTIVES have reviewed security footage related to a fire that caused more than $10,000 damage at a West Wodonga playground and need the community’s help.
Detective Sen-Constable Justin Foots said closed-circuit television footage from Federation Park Store in Barton Street shows two young men running to a park with a fuel can in-hand.
He said the fire that destroyed a $10,000 slide at the park started a short time later.
Sen-Constable Foots urged residents living nearby to check their yards for a white five-litre fuel can, similar to those found at service stations.
“If people haven’t touched it already just leave it and call us,” Sen-Constable Foots said.
A Wodonga boy, 13, was bailed to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date on the matter.
