LISA Maginnity played a strong hand in Team Rouvray’s four sets to two win over Team Bulle in section 1 women’s action yesterday.
Jo Takle and Linda Jacobs also contributed, while Helen Fuge was in good form for Bulle.
Team Wurtz gained the upper hand early, scrapping through the first two sets before going on to win comfortably against Team Spencer.
Di Wurtz led her side well with Brenda Roberts lending good support while Liz McCulloch and Maureen Richter claimed the set for Spencer.
The closest match in section 2 was a one-game victory to Team Van De Stadt over Team Parker.
Fiona Landy and Ros Frawley won the tight final set to close out the match for Van De Stadt.
Tinks Urquhart was solid all day for Parker.
Convincing wins in sets three and four paved the way for Team Staughton’s nine-game triumph over Team Van der Vliet.
Carolyn Staughton, Denise Shiel, Janny Molesworth and Sharon Waite all played a role, while Jane Van der Vliet was best for her team.
Team MacNeil was quickly away against Team Mills, getting the points in the bag by mid-morning.
Annie Connelly and June Kent finished strongly to give Team Dwerryhouse a four-game win over Team Fletcher in section 3.
Dominant wins early in the morning ensured Team Harris a 10-game victory over Team Passalaqua with sets locked at three apiece.
Rosemary Symon and Debbie Sanger were best for the winners.
In the final match, Team Brawn defeated Team Dihood four sets to two. Judy Musgrove was undefeated for Brawn while Enid Antone was best for Dihood.
