TWO Corowa men accused of an aggravated burglary at Tocumwal Golf Club were caught “red-handed”, a magistrate has said.
Magistrate Tony Murray granted Christopher James Glare, 29, and Simon John Garsed, 33, bail in Albury Local Court on Monday, but warned them the police case against them was strong.
Glare, of Walker Street, is charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter with intent to commit a serious indictable offence by stealing from the Tocumwal Golf Club last Saturday.
Garsed, of Alfred Street, is charged with possessing housebreaking implements and aggravated burglary.
Police have not been able to find Garsed and Glare’s co-accused.
Glare and Garsed were granted bail to appear at Albury Local Court again on December 16, despite police strongly opposing their release.
In granting bail to Glare, Mr Murray said “he has been caught red-handed in relation to the break and enter”.
