AUSSIE rock legend Jimmy Barnes is set to reprise his Kinross Woolshed Hotel entertainment triumphs with a return to the Thurgoona pub just before Christmas.
But the 57-year-old Scottish-born, Adelaide-raised singer won’t be alone.
He’ll be joined by three other major Australian acts for the 6½-hour pre-Christmas celebration of Aussie rock favourites on the Kinross’ outdoor deck on Saturday, December 14.
Kinross owner Nic Conway says Barnes’ legion of Border fans should ensure the success of his return Kinross gig.
“This is going to be a massive night with Barnesy supported by Aussie rock icons Ian Moss and Richard Clapton along with Aussie favourite Mahalia Barnes (Jimmy’s eldest daughter) and The Soul Mates,” Mr Conway said.
Moss, a Cold Chisel bandmate of Barnes’, is known for his songs Tucker’s Daughter and signature Bow River while Clapton’s Girls on the Avenue in 1975 was his biggest hit.
Mahalia Barnes, who started performing as a child with her Barnes siblings in The Tin Lids, attracted widespread attention last year when she took part in the first series of the TV talent show The Voice, eventually pitted against fellow contestant and friend Prinnie Stevens, with whom she later toured.
At his two previous Kinross outings, Jimmy Barnes played before estimated crowds of 4000 (2010) and 6000 (2009).
Mr Conway said the night would provide an easy and entertaining option for Christmas celebration.
“People should word up the boss about plans for the work Christmas party and get a marquee or just a handful of tickets to reward people for their work,” he said.
General admission is $69.90 (children 12 years and under free) with marquee tickets $79.90 (minimum of 20). Bookings can be made through trybooking.com.
Gates will open at 4.30pm with Mahalia Barnes and The Soul Mates on at 5.30pm, with Richard Clapton, Ian Moss and Jimmy Barnes to follow.
