Then head to Albury-Wodonga Yacht Club’s free open day tomorrow.

Qualified sailing coaches and experienced skippers will be available along with a range of boats to try.

Children as young as five can sail if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The open day will be held at the club, Old Weir Road, Lake Hume, Bonegilla, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm.

Club commodore Jeff Stirling is expecting a good turnout.

“We usually attract a decent crowd throughout the day,” he said.

“It’s a chance for people, their family and even their friends to go out for a short sail with an experienced sailor.

“They can also enjoy the club facilities and learn about the programs and courses available.”

Registrations will be taken on the day.

Mr Stirling encouraged people to bring a hat, sunscreen and to dress to the weather conditions.
