The Lady Wolves remained undefeated with a classy 92-67 win while their male counterparts handed Albury its first loss of the season, prevailing 88-76, at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre.
The slick Lady Wolves asserted their authority on the game early with some solid team play.
Guard Tenille Collins led the way with 15 points, pacing a balanced attack which saw six players hit double-figures.
For the Lady Cougars, Sarah Moore was again solid, battling hard down low for a match-high 30 points.
In the mens, a fired up ‘Wolf Pack’ jumped a shocked Cougars line-up to amass an early double-digit lead.
The Wolves rode the wave of some hot shooting from Jon Lindhe and hard graft inside by Josh McKay as the Cougars struggled to get into rhythm on offense.
The game would prove to be a physical affair and foul trouble would hinder the Cougars with key big men MacGregor Cameron and Ben Appleford forced to sit for extended periods.
Fighting through some woeful shooting, the Cougars made a run late in the third quarter and into the fourth with Jacob Cincurak and Jack Duck nailing some big shots.
Lindhe (28 points) and McKay (26) led the way for the Wolves. They were well supported by Trevor McLean and Dylan Webb.
The Cougars were led by Bandit Darcy Harding, who worked tirelessly all match to finish with 29 points.
Yesterday, both Cougars outfits bounced back with victories against the Echuca Pirates.
The Lady Cougars fought extremely hard to win a nail-biter, 60-57 against a gallant Pirates team who had the chance to tie the game with the final shot.
In the men, the Cougars put in a solid team effort against an under-strength Pirates to run out 109-46 victors.
The Albury side had multiple players finish in double figures with Duck (27), Harding (24) and Cincurak (23) leading the way.
