Lade, who is on course to break the association’s aggregate this season after making 522 runs in the opening six rounds, was named in a 19-man squad released by coach Trent Ball yesterday.
“‘Ladey’ has indicated he’s right to play,” Ball said.
“He’s having a great season and the Tallangatta boys are all keen to play.
“It will be awesome to have him and Woody involved.
“We should have a good team and no excuses out at Tallangatta.
“Like all of us, the Tallangatta boys are probably keen for a chance to play at the SCG.”
Wagga qualified for the match by defeating an under-manned Murray Valley last month and will pin its hopes heavily on skipper Joel Robertson to lead the way.
Former Sydney grade cricketer and Wagga player Mitch Sykes has moved back to the region and took 2-11 off 10 overs against Murray Valley, while Jon Nichol is another dangerman.
CAW’s squad will be finalised this weekend.
The CAW squad: Nat Sariman, James McNeil, Andrew Lade, James Tonkin, Brendan Simmons, Steve Wood, Mat Armstrong, Trent Ball, Ashan Ranaweera, Ryan Brown, Paul Conolly, Cameron White, Byron Hales, Dave Tassell, Ash Borella, Will Brown, Mitch O’Brien, Zach Simmonds, Andrew Taylor, Dan Dixon.
