Motorcyclist hurt in Cahill Expressway collision

A motorcyclist has been injured after his bike and a car collided on the Cahill Expressway on Wednesday.

The crash occurred near Mount Street just before the Harbour Bridge in a southbound lane about 11am, an Ambulance NSW spokeswoman said.

The 59-year-old motorcyclist was thrown over the handlebars.He suffered chest and abdominal pains but appears to be in a stable condition, the spokeswoman said.

A number of police, RMS and ambulance crews were at the scene, a NSW Police spokeswoman said.

Live Traffic Sydney earlier reported that two of four city-bound lanes on the Warringah Freeway were blocked following the accident.

Roads were reopened about 11.45am.
