Photographer Chris Hocking snapped the unusual dusting at Falls Creek after snow started to fall yesterday morning and more heavily late yesterday afternoon.
“You can see a cover of snow towards the peak and there’s a bit of snow on the cards,” Mr Hocking said.
“It’s less than three weeks till Christmas and it’s still snowing up here, and it reached 40 degrees on the Border on Monday. It’s a false summer.”
Temperatures in the peaks dipped below zero and it was slightly warmer on the Border with Albury-Wodonga at its coldest at 9.8 degrees at 10am.
Rain also continued yesterday with 3.2 millimetres recorded in Albury-Wodonga from 9am until 6.30pm after 29.4 millimetres was dumped in the 24 hours before that.
A partly cloudy day is predicted for Border today with a top of 22 degrees.
