Prime time for Cougar kids

THE Albury Cougars will be without several key players when they take on Wangaratta Warriors in the Country Basketball League in Albury tomorrow.

Jack Duck, Darcy Harding, Sawyer Dearborn, Jacob Cincurak and MacGregor Cameron are unavailable due to pre-season commitments with the Albury-Wodonga Bandits.

This means the Cougars will rely heavily on regulars Bobby Tye and Jeremy Newton to ensure they add another win to the tally.

While missing the bulk of their roster, the Cougars will revel in the chance to blood youngsters Lewis and Darcy Locke.

“As an extremely inexperienced team, we will need to work hard on the defensive end,” Tye said.

“Warriors’ sharp shooter Zack Leitch will be one we need to watch from long range.”

The Lady Cougars will look to bounce back after last weekend’s disappointing performance.

They will face some stiff competition from the Warriors who have been competitive all season, and unlucky to not steal a couple more wins.

The Lady Cougars kick off the day at noon and the men follow at 2pm.

All the action is at Lauren Jackson Sports Centre.
