BENALLA’S Sam Schneider reckoned his mum was more anxious than him as he logged on to the home computer for his VCE score yesterday.
“Mum woke me and was over one shoulder as I logged in,” he said.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw 98.95.”
The dux of Benalla P-12 College said he would save up the celebrating for graduation night tomorrow.
His score was much more than he needed for his preferred course of computer science at Monash University.
“I needed about 80, so it was much higher than I expected,” he said.
Galen College’s Sean Bartlett received the top score at his Wangaratta school, with an ATAR of 96.45.
Principal Bernard Neal said it was one of the biggest year 12 groups for years and students should be proud of their efforts.
The top girl at Wangaratta High will learn her result today when postal results are home-delivered.
Dux of Wangaratta High was Tait Bonito who scored 97.55.
His score will allow him to study science at Melbourne University — his top score was in physics.
Principal Heather Sarau was pleased with the scores of her 160 students who completed year 12.
