Police said the man who broke into Erotic Nights in High Street early on Saturday was aged 17 to 25.
They said the thief knew what he wanted — among the items stolen were vibrators and a penis pump.
The owner of the store, Seymour Batt, said a range of “adult products” were stolen.
“They got away with a fair bit of stuff,” he said.
He said he was reluctant to say more while police were investigating the matter.
Wodonga’s Detective Leading Sen-Constable Ian Deverell said the break-in was definitely a targeted offence for “personal use”.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that he had visited the store previously,” he said.
Sen-Constable Deverell said the man had smashed a window to gain entry to the store sometime after midnight on Saturday.
He had caused damage of up to $1000.
Police said they were reviewing the shop’s CCTV footage of the crime for clues.
Sen-Constable Deverell said some of the stolen property had been found dumped nearby.
Police had also found a red-and-black motorcycle shirt that they believed the thief was wearing during the break-in.
“It’s a busy road down there and there would have been a lot of people coming and going at that time of night,” he said.
“It’s likely somebody has seen something that could help us,” he said.
It is the third time in four months the store has been broken into or vandalised.
Synthetic cannabis valued at $6000 was stolen in September.
“There were no drugs taken this time,” Sen-Const Deverell said.
