A SET of campaign medals stolen from an Australian soldier are on their way back home to their rightful owner.
The seven medals were found earlier this month during a raid of a Wodonga house over unrelated matters.
Police believed they were stolen from a car in the Border area in the past year.
They contacted the defence force and yesterday Detective Sgt Graeme Simpfendorfer said the medals were being reunited with their Sydney-based owner.
He said the Miltary Police had undertaken to return them.
The medals related to Australia’s major overseas deployments of the past decade, including East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan.
